Jenny knew that the forest had a bad reputation. There were so many stories about scary creatures that allegedly lurked in the gloom. But temptation is a strong driver when combined with a headstrong attitude, so Jenny ignored the warnings and entered a realm beyond her wildest imaginings, a realm inhabited by beings she believed only existed in fairy tales. Creatures that would change her life forever!

Jenny bit down the scream that was racing toward her lips, her mind demanded escape, to run and never stop, but muscle and bone refused as though she had grown roots.
“What are you?” she managed to stammer, the words catching in her throat as breath came shallow and rapid, in time with her heart.
The creature edged from the shadow, for it was no man. A beast towered above her, standing erect on crooked legs thick with hair and set on cloven hooves, it's chest was broad and ridged with muscle... and strangely human, as were its arms, but any connection with humanity ended there as she looked into bestial eyes, and one either side of its head, grew curved horns.
Jenny squeezed her eyes tightly shut and wished to wake! To stir and find herself damp with perspiration and staring at the bedroom ceiling. So many times nightmares had visited her... but never so real and vivid.
“You do not know my kind?” the beat answered and stepped closer.
Jenny gasped, an involuntary reaction to the thick and erect penis that stood proud from his groin, proportional to his physical size it was small, but certainly larger than any that Jenny had ever encountered, not that she had vast experience!
Unable to draw her eyes away Jenny shook her head.
“I am Luciani, master of the forests,” he replied proudly and strutted a step closer. “And I am a Satyr.”
Jenny shook her head and clenched her fingers tightly into fists.
Run! The voice inside her head screamed, RUN!
“A faun?” she added hesitantly.
The Satyr glared and snorted like a bull about to charge. “Faun! Faun indeed... snivelling little insects, inbred accidents... no, I am no Faun!”
“What do you want with me?” Jenny whispered, her alarm growing as the penis bobbed while the Satyr spoke.
“That is obvious!” Luciani chuckled and stepped within touching distance, “I want you to take your rightful place... Brenda's place. I want you to fulfil your destiny!”
“You knew my grandmother... how?” Jenny recalled his initial words, how her Granny had somehow forbidden the creature to approach her... But Granny B is gone now... and I'm here!
“We were close for many years.” the creature replied, and Jenny noticed a softening of his tone, less arrogance, more reminiscence... a hint of fondness.
And sadness! She caught the expression on his confusing face, part beast, part man, hairy yet not quite animal... not a man either she told herself and instantly wondered if her were some form of tragic hybrid, maybe a research experiment, the result of scientists playing God and splicing genes?
I'm not afraid of you! It was an epiphany, the words rung in her head as clear as a bell. You don't want to hurt me, you won't hurt me!
“You were friends?”
The Satyr nodded. “You look so much like her Jenny, when she was the same age as you are now.”
“You knew Granny back them?” she gasped, he didn't look that old, but she wasn't exactly sure how to determine the age of a mythical beast. And she wasn't completely sure if she really looked at a Satyr, maybe she had been warned away from the forest because of some hallucinogenic gas, maybe she was actually flat on her back now slowly asphyxiating rather than being held by some invisible force that had frozen her muscles while she chatted casually with a cross between man and goat!
“I watched her grow from a baby to a ripe young woman just like you... but in the blink of an eye she had entered into the autumn and winter of her life, just as her mother did, and her mother before her... just as you will Jenny.”
“Are you trying to say that you knew my great Granny... and my great, great Gran too?” Jenny shook her head in disbelief.
“I am indeed,” the Satyr chuckled, “And many more before them... I have been Master here for more years than even I can remember, I have seen many great oaks strive from acorn to decay, I was here before your polluting vehicles, from before people used horses and carts, from a time when you were little more than grunting beasts yourselves. So Yes Jenny, I have know three generations of your family... and you are my fourth!”
“And what do you want from me?” Jenny asked again, to take her grandmothers place was maybe too subtle and cryptic.
“You know!” Luciani shuffled in the leaf mould and Jenny was once again drawn to the erect penis that twitched and jerked under her gaze. “You just haven't realised yet. But now you must come... follow Jenny, everything will soon be prepared... the hour approaches!”
Despite the mounting confusion that surrounded her, Jenny followed as the Satyr turned away and stalked out into the glade, quite why she couldn't say, she just knew that she was safe, her Granny B had trusted the beast, she knew that in her heart... and her grandmother had been no fool, she didn't trust quickly or easily.
I already know? What the hell does that mean she questioned, before looking up to behold a sight straight out of a fairy-tale.
